Suunto Spartan

We worked together with Suunto on creating the next generation watch User Interface.

Suunto is a legendary Finnish company that has been at the forefront of innovation for 80 years, hand crafting premium sport watches, instruments and dive computers that have been tested in the world’s harshest conditions.

The Spartan collection is Suunto's latest and greatest in multisport GPS watches, providing the durability and functionality that Suunto is famous for. The watch is designed for athletic and adventure use, featuring a brand new color touch screen.

Wristwatches are personal. Sport watches are no exception.

These hand made watches come in different body and bezel styles, providing the perfect style option just for you. Good design is an important feature of analog watches, and it’s equally important when it comes to digital watches.

Together with Suunto, we created a collection of watch faces that range from classic to sporty. With a focus on informative design, they combine the perfect look with outstanding functionality.

Spartan collection is Suunto’s first watch series to use colour touchscreen.

It presented the perfect opportunity to create a brand new watch UI specifically designed for athletic and adventure use.

Together with Suunto’s design team, we created a more intuitive user interface which can be used with both touch and physical buttons. It’s not only perfect for everyday use, but also for adventures like trekking in the Arctic Circle while wearing gloves. The watches provide notifications of incoming calls, messages, activity data and insights into your training.

The biggest design challenge was to compress all the knowledge and data into an easy-to-understand, informative sport display.

No matter if you are a Sunday jogger or a pro athlete, the watch has to adapt to your level and needs. The Spartan watches have 80 sport modes pre-installed and ready to use out of the box, for sports like running, cycling, swimming, and triathlon, as well as various adventure sports like hiking and ski touring.
